Our Team

We've built at scale before. Now we're doing it again — for traceability.

FirstLeap exists because we believe traceability is about to become as fundamental to business infrastructure as payments or logistics — and that solving it properly takes a team that has actually lived through building, scaling, and proving a company, not just theorizing about it.

Founder

Manish Kumar

Founder, FirstLeap Technologies

Background

Manish is an Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate from NIT Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, with 13+ years of building technology at scale.

What defines Manish isn't just the resume — it's the instinct. He doesn't treat technology as a function that sits apart from the business; he lives it. Every architecture decision, every tooling choice, every timing call is made through the lens of what actually moves company performance. That's the difference between a technologist and a technology partner who has sat in the diligence room — not one advising from outside it.

Career Milestones
  • Started his career at Publicis Sapient, cutting his teeth on enterprise-grade technology delivery.
  • Moved to Airtel's early in-house technology team, working on systems built for national scale.
  • Joined Dentalkart as an early technical hire and grew with the company — Technical Lead, Technical Manager, and eventually CTO and Promoter.
  • Co-architected Dentalkart's journey to a ₹1,000 Cr valuation and its IPO in June 2023, raising ₹85 Cr, backed by Malabar Investments and WhiteOak Capital.
The Team

Not a solo bet — a founding team.

FirstLeap isn't one founder's side project. Manish is building this alongside a small, deliberately chosen group of passionate engineers, entrepreneurs, and industry experts — people who've each independently decided this problem is worth their time.

Engineers

Want to solve hard, real-world systems problems — distributed data, verifiable records, scale — not push pixels on a feature no one asked for.

Entrepreneurs

Understand that traceability is a business enabler, not a compliance checkbox, and bring the instinct for what customers will actually pay for.

Industry Experts

Know the supply chain, pharma, and manufacturing landscapes from the inside, so the product gets built against real operational constraints, not assumptions.

This mix matters because traceability sits exactly at the intersection of hard engineering and deep domain knowledge — you can't build a great solution with only one of the two.

What We Believe

Two convictions driving the build.

On the Business Side

Regulation is tightening, counterfeit and recall costs are rising, and trust is becoming a genuine competitive edge. Most traceability solutions today are legacy ERP bolt-ons or narrow point tools — we believe there's real room for a platform built fast, developer-friendly, and scalable from day one.

On the Technical Side

Traceability is deceptively hard — high-throughput event ingestion, tamper-evident and auditable records, graph-shaped supply chain data, offline-first edge capture, and anomaly detection all have to work together, reliably, at scale. That's the kind of systems problem this team is built to take on.

“
Everyone on this team — technical or not — shares one instinct: build things that hold up under real-world pressure, and tie every decision back to what actually moves the business forward.
